If you will be using the phone a lot, particularly if the cell phone is your only phone, you will want a plan where you pay a fixed amount each month for a certain number of minutes of talk time. If you don't use your cell phone that often, you can use pay and talk. Pay and talk allows you to pay as much money as you want each month for a varying number of minutes.

     Cell phones also have different features that you'll want to find out about. These can include text messaging, internet access and digital or analog service. Digital service is often only available in high population areas like cities while analog service is available in outlying areas. If you have a cell phone that works in both digital and analog modes, you can use it anywhere.
